Short Biography

I will be joining the IoT Thrust of Info Hub at HKUST Guangzhou as an assistant professor in Spring 2026. I did my Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences (Mechanical Engineering) with Jorge Cortés at UC San Diego, and B.S. + M.S. in Control Science and Engineering with Ligang Wu at HIT Honors School. Prior to HKUST Guangzhou, I held short visiting and research positions at CUHK Information Engineering Department, hosted by Changhong Zhao, and was involved in several industrial projects collaborating with NREL and TotalEnergies.

Research Interests

I am broadly interested in Control & Optimization, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, and Energy Systems. Recently I work on:

• Data-driven control and learning framework for dynamical systems through Koopman operator

• Control-inspired machine learning with structural guarantees in generative AI

• Control and learning of DERs and power flow analysis in sustainable energy systems
